REMOTE NOTARIAL DEED: Since April 1st, notaries are allowed to sign a notarized document remotely. This is not compulsory and notaries are free to use this additional tool or not. Thank you for your patience as delays due to the implementation of the solution in the notaries’ offices may occur. Consult the steps and application procedures.
CHAMBRE DES NOTAIRES OFFICES: The Chamber's offices are open, but due to the circumstances related to the coronavirus some services are offered remotely. Additional delays apply for requests for searches in Registers of Testamentary Dispositions and Mandates, as well as for requests for a Certificate of Quality and Authenticity. However, the analysis of all new applications for financial assistance is suspended until further notice.

Recruitment and selection

The Chambre des notaires recruitment process has several steps. Each one enables the Human Resources Department to get to know you better in an effort to check whether there are openings that fit your goals, experience and skills.

Application analysis

Once you have submitted your application, we will analyze it against the requirements of the position, based on your professional experience, education and profile. If your application is retained, we will contact you for the next step of the selection process. Otherwise, you will not receive an acknowledgement of receipt.

Pre-selection Telephone interview, based on the position.

You will be contacted for a 20-minute telephone interview at a time that is convenient for you.

Selection interview

The applicants invited for an interview will meet a Selection Committee consisting of a member from Human Resources, the manager concerned and a team member (manager). They will assess the applicant's skills in relation to the position to be filled. In most cases, the first part of the interview is more structured and you will be asked more formal questions. If necessary, short scenarios may conclude the interview process.

If your application is retained, we will ask you to take pre-selection tests.

Pre-selection tests

We use different types of tests. Depending on the nature of the position, there may also be a French, Word, Excel, personality, written and/or conversational English test, along with any other test pertaining to the position.

If successful, the test results will remain valid for two years. In the event that your tests are not satisfactory, you will need to wait two years before taking the tests again. Once your tests have been analyzed, you will receive an email confirming your results.
